BEREA

With its comprehensive economic development initiatives and ongoing infrastructure improvements, Berea is an ideal hub for business, blending historic charm with modern amenities and a forward-thinking approach to growth and accessibility.

THE CITY OF BEREA

Berea, Ohio, a historic and prospering city located near Cleveland, is an excellent place for businesses and residents to thrive.

In recent years, Berea has implemented targeted economic development programs that bolster retail, restaurant, service, office, and industrial sectors. Berea’s North End is undergoing a major commercial revitalization, with the city working on a significant transformation of the area. The Rocco J. Colonna Industrial Park hosts global businesses, with companies specializing in manufacturing, logistics, auto parts, research, development, and food production.

Berea has also committed to a robust road program targeting multiple areas for asphalt resurfacing, concrete repairs, and new sidewalk installations. This commitment is exemplified by the $6.7 million Adrian, Anne, Pattie, and Girard Improvement Project and several other major road reconstruction projects. Initiatives such as updating Parknoll with modern amenities and the construction of a new water plant storage tank, as well as a sewer flow connector, underscore the city’s commitment to enhancing quality of life for its residents.

Berea’s proximity to Interstate Highways and Cleveland’s Hopkins International Airport positions it as a convenient location for business operations. The city is the proud home to the Cleveland Browns’ headquarters.

Assets like the Metroparks offer ample recreational opportunities, with trails, sports facilities, and lakes for public enjoyment, while Baldwin Wallace University provides a liberal arts education and contributes to the intellectual vibrancy of the city, preparing a skilled workforce for the future.

Berea looks forward to the construction of a new recreation and community center and a significant mixed-use development in collaboration with the Cleveland Browns, projected to enhance the community’s public facilities and recreational spaces.

Berea is also actively enhancing its downtown through a comprehensive multimodal transportation study, signaling a progressive step towards fostering economic growth by improving accessibility and safety. With the aid of a federal Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) grant, the city is identifying gaps and opportunities in its current walkable and bikeable infrastructure, laying the groundwork for a more connected, attractive downtown. This initiative positions Berea as a forward-thinking city, primed for economic expansion as improved transportation stimulate local commerce, reduce congestion, and attract investments to the core downtown area.
