ECONOMIC INCENTIVES

Middleburg Heights presents a progressive environment for business growth, underlined by attractive incentives designed to boost commercial and industrial development.

  • Community Reinvestment Area Program: Offers tax incentives for property owners investing in the remodeling or new construction of commercial and industrial properties, with benefits including up to 100% tax exemption for up to 12 years for remodeling and up to 15 years for new constructions. These incentives are aimed to advance revitalization in areas where investment has been discouraged, subject to legislative approval and a finalized agreement with the city prior to project commencement.

  • Job Creation Grant Program: Incentivizes eligible businesses to establish or expand in the city by offering grants based on the annual payroll taxes generated by new or retained jobs. To be eligible, a new business must create a minimum of 50 jobs or a $2,000,000 annual payroll within three years, and existing businesses must add the same minimums while maintaining current employment levels.
